{engagement} jill + robert: rivalry turned into love
This Friday, Jill and Robert put aside their Notre Dame vs. USC rivalry and get married! Bob was in my b-school class at USC Marshall and I am so excited to be a part of making this wonderful & extremely fun couple's wedding dreams come true!
Bob met Jill after our first year of school in the Fall of 2008 at the USC vs. Notre Dame football game at USC. Jill is a loyal Fighting Irish fan and Bob (originally from Boston College) a converted Trojan. Their story told by the couple...
On the Saturday following Thanksgiving, Jill was busy pouring Guinness after Guinness at Irish Fest in her capacity as a member of the board for the Notre Dame Club of Los Angeles. Bob was in his second year at USC's Marshall School of Business working towards his MBA. He and his roommate Matt, known for their prodigious tailgating skills, had set up shop just outside of Jesse Brewer Jr. Park where Irish Fest was being held. Their Notre Dame friends, Jill included, began to stop by and Jill and Bob met for the first time. That day, somewhere between the Coliseum and the Big Buck Hunter video game machine in the corner of the North End Bar in Manhattan Beach, a love that will last a lifetime was born.
And after two years of romance, Robert proposed to Jill.... (the abbreviated version)
Dressed in her typical travel clothes, orange velour pants and a hoodie, Jill deplaned at JFK to find Bob waiting for her just past security with a chauffeur sign featuring her name. After rolling her eyes, Jill was soon brushing back tears from them as Bob dropped to one knee, produced a ring, and flipped over the sign which read, "Will You Marry Me?"
Good luck Robert & Jill! You are such a beautiful, fun and loving couple! Congrats on your wedding!
